This project was made as a useful alternative to lighting jack o’ lanterns with candles or traditional batteries on Halloween. It could also double as a center piece for the fall and is easily made with common household items. After hollowing out the pumpkins, a prepared electrolyte was added to the pots along with coils of two dissimilar metals and wired in sequence to light the LED in the jack o’ lantern.
