LED Origami Brooch
Made out of an LED lighted pin, a star box base and a modified balloon covering, this paper brooch ambiently glows in darkness and can be made in about an hour.
Cthulhu Loves You
I made this 8-bit style SHUMP art-game in the Akihabara HTML5 game engine developed by Kesiev. In this game you are Björk coming to rescue Iceland from Cthulhu and the terrors of Eyjafjallajökull. I used real quotations from Björk to make it more true to form. The Z key is the A button and you move with the arrow keys. Click here to play!
Objects that Interact with iPad
My partners and I at DINO Interactive Studios have developed an iPad application that allows input from a specific grouping of ‘fingers’ from the bottom of three objects. When you place the object on the screen surface of the iPad, flowers and vines grow from underneath the object. This corresponds to the application as it is a flower growing app called Akina HD, available for free in a human-touch enabled version in the Apple App Store currently.
Giant Snail Take Over
A papercraft game out cardboard and motorized props. The gameplay was recorded into a stop-motion spaghetti western. This epic saga details the attempts of a lone defender of a town ransacked by giant snails. Will the townsfolk perish or will a savior come to the rescue? Watch and see.
Ambient Text Mashup of Modest Mouse
I made this applet in Processing out of the Hashmap and Frequency audio/visual libraries with James DeMond. It loads the lyrics of the song “The Good Times Are Killing Me” by Modest Mouse and makes repeating words larger. The title and chorus words of the song throb to the beat of the music while turning red. Click here to view.
Black and White and Red All Over
A collaborative game made in Processing with David Nunez and W. Aaron Waychoff. In this game you are a news editor trying to balance the good and bad news articles that come across your desk to put in your paper. The headlines are in realtime pulled through RSS feed into the game and fall into the comedic or tragic categories.
Interactive Paper Art
These drawings are from the beginning of a children’s book where the pages are inlaid with LED’s which light up when pressed and provide an interactive compontent to the characters on the page.
Project I Feel
A new way to describe moments and stories. I am working on a way to enter text of the experience so that it pulls the corresponding visuals instead of recreating it every time in a paint program.
Sound Pushpin
This tiny device generates small rustling sounds as the foil leaves spin.
Crybot
A robot that cries if the motion sensor senses that there is no one present around it and stops crying when there is motion again.
